A note from Jared:
Dear Colleagues,My name is Jared Krukar; I’m an attorney with DPW Legal and a candidate for the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Board of Directors. I write today to tell you a bit about myself and to ask for your support in the current election.
I moved to Tampa after graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Economics. I then attended Stetson Law in Gulfport, where I obtained both my Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees. I spent the next five years clerking with the Second District Court of Appeal, first with Central Staff and then for the Honorable Darryl C. Casanueva. I left the Court to join the Appellate group at Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig (formerly Butler Pappas). Recently I’ve joined Dineen Wasylik and her firm, DPW Legal—an appellate and intellectual property boutique practicing throughout Tampa Bay.
I’m fortunate to have had significant involvement with the HCBA in my nearly eleven years of membership. I’ve served as co-chair of the Appellate Law Section for the past three years, and was its Professionalism Chair before that. Outside that section, I’ve organized and moderated the past two HCBA Bench/Bar Conference Appellate Breakout Sessions. I’ve also taught several CLEs in Tampa for local and state organizations, including the Trial & Litigation Section, the Appellate Law Section, the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers Diversity Committee, and the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section. And I’ve published several articles in the HCBA Lawyer magazine (among other outlets), with my next article expected to be published in the summer edition.
At the state level, I serve on the Executive Council of the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section, and I co-chair that section’s Telephonic CLE Committee. One of my goals with the state bar is to find ways to better coordinate with our local bar and courts. To that end, I’ve been appointed the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section’s liaison to the HCBA and to the Second District Court of Appeal.
On a personal note, I am married with one daughter. My wife, Erin, is a Tampa native and currently the Assistant Principal of the High School Division at the Academy of the Holy Names—the high school from which she herself graduated years ago, and where we were married. Erin has always called Tampa her home, and I’ve grown to do the same in the past fourteen years. We are committed to our Tampa community. I hope to continue serving our legal community in a new capacity as a member of the HCBA Board of Directors.
I would be honored to have your support, but regardless of your chosen candidates, please vote!
Thank you for your consideration,
